Cost & Estimate Questions

How much does auto repair cost?

Pricing depends on your vehicle and the issue. Our diagnostics identify the exact cause before we quote any repair. A service advisor will contact you with an estimate with clear parts and labor breakdowns — no surprises or hidden fees.

Do you charge for diagnostics?

We charge a fair diagnostic fee that covers the technician’s time and use of advanced diagnostic tools.

Can you give me a quote over the phone?

For basic maintenance like oil changes or brake pad replacement, yes. For more complex problems like check-engine lights or electrical issues, we need to inspect inspect and diagnose the vehicle.

Do you price-match other Boise repair shops?

We focus on value — not shortcuts. While we may not always match the lowest quote, our work includes premium parts, digital documentation, ASE-certified labor, and 36-month/36,000-mile or 24-month/ 24,000-mile for commercial vehicles’ Napa Nationwide Peace of Mind Warranty. Most discount shops can’t offer that level of assurance.

Warranty & Guarantee Questions

What kind of warranty do you provide?

All qualifying repairs include our 36-month/36,000-mile or 24-month/24,000-mile for commercial vehicles’ Napa Nationwide Peace of Mind Warranty covering both parts and labor. Whether you’re in Boise or across the country, you’re protected.

What happens if something goes wrong after I leave?

If you are local, contact us immediately. We will schedule an inspection right away. If you are out of town, call the number on the back of the invoice, or contact us and we will connect you with a partner shop in the nationwide warranty network.

Scheduling & Communication Questions

How long will my repair take?

Turnaround times vary depending on parts availability and service complexity. Your service advisor will communicate every step of the way via phone call, text or email, if timelines change. Most maintenance services (like oil changes or brake work) are completed the same day.

How will I know when my car is ready?

Your service advisor will call, text or email when your vehicle is complete. We’ll also include a copy of your inspection report and invoice for your records.

Do you offer after-hours drop-off or pickup?

Yes. We have a secure key drop box for early or late deliveries. Talk with your service advisor to make the proper arrangements for after-hours pickup.

Can I approve work remotely?

Absolutely. With our system, you can review your inspection, and approve repairs, perfect for busy schedules.

Maintenance Questions

How often should I change my oil?

Most modern vehicles benefit from oil changes every 5,000–7,500 miles, depending on driving conditions and oil type. Your oil level should be checked every 1,000 miles. Our technicians check your manufacturer’s guidelines and recommend the right interval for your vehicle.

When should I replace my brakes?

Brake pads typically last 30,000–70,000 miles, but driving habits and terrain make a big difference. Squealing, grinding, or vibration during braking means it’s time for inspection.

Do I really need fluid flushes?

Yes — but at the correct intervals. Transmission, coolant, and brake fluid degrade over time. Flushing them prevents premature wear and costly repairs. We’ll show you fluid condition photos in your report, so you know exactly when it’s needed.

How can I improve fuel efficiency?

Regular maintenance makes a big difference: clean filters, proper tire pressure, and fresh spark plugs can increase mileage and engine performance.

Shop Values & Customer Experience

What makes Garry’s Automotive different from other Boise repair shops?

We combine technology and transparency. Every inspection, estimate, and warranty is documented digitally, so you always know what’s happening with your vehicle. We treat customers like neighbors — because they are.

Are your technicians certified?

Yes. Every technician holds ASE certification and receives ongoing training on modern automotive systems.

Do you upsell unnecessary work?

Never. Our philosophy is education, not pressure. You’ll see what needs attention now and what can wait, clearly marked in your digital report.

Why should I trust Garry’s with my vehicle?
